The Cyber EPQ

The CyberEPQ is a Level 3 Qualification that allows students to gain a holistic understanding of the cyber security industry, develop cyber skills, understand how cyber works in real life and boost their confidence to take their cyber career to the next stage.

Available to students aged 14 and over who work through 8 mandatory Core Modules and then choose 1 final module from a choice of 5 specialist or 2 innovation modules. This allows students to gain a passion to a certain area of cyber and investigate this further by producing a 5,000-word written project and a presentation.

This City and Guilds qualification is worth up to 28 UCAS points (an AS Level) depending on the final grade. The CyberEPQ can help to evidence self-study, planning, researching and analytical skills to universities when applying for degree courses.

You can gain a broad, introductory knowledge of Cyber which could lead into a career in the industry. Schools tend to apply for EPQ’s. Individuals can apply but teachers need to be onboard to mark coursework.
