UWECyber

UWE Bristol lead the CyberWEST project, supported by the National Cyber Security Centre in collaboration with the University of Bristol, University of Exeter and the University of Plymouth.

The project builds on previous outreach to develop schools workshops across the South West region, accompanied by an activity repository and an equipment loan library to support teaching and learning in Cyber Security Education.

Cyber First Bursary

CyberFirst offers students a real choice after A Levels or whilst at University.

A CyberFirst Bursary offers undergraduates £4,000 per year financial assistance and paid cyber security training each summer to help kick start their career in cyber.

Once you have the fundamentals of Try Hack Me you can start experimenting with the boxes on Hack The Box. When you are familiar with a subject, you can dive into HTB academy to get a deeper understanding of it.

CoderDojo

Coder Dojo is a community of over 2250 free, open and local programming clubs for young people. Anyone aged seven to seventeen can visit a Dojo where you can learn to code, build a website, create an app or a game, and explore technology in an informal, creative, and social environment. There are several clubs in the region.

The Inspiring Digital Enterprise Award is a programme that helps you develop digital, enterprise and employability skills for free. Learners take part in a series of challenges in order to win badges. It’s the digital equivalent of the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Mini courses include coding, growth hacking, blockchain, e-safety, virtual reality, social media.

Cyber Security Activity Kit

With this activity kit, parents, teachers and other guardians have some concrete tools to help teach their children about online safety and security in a fun and engaging way. It consists of a workbook with puzzles and games, a poster and a video module featuring KnowBe4’s security awareness hero Captain Awareness, making it suitable for younger people. “By offering these tools at no-cost, we hope to open the dialogue between children and their parents or teachers about the real threats that exist online today.”
